maybe i do not explained myself well there i believe what marx believe that economies are a transition based on the automation level, capitalism has low level automation while socialism means mid level automation and communism is about full automation aka fully automated luxury communism
Dude we are very far from a fully automated society.

lso there is no stopping you from developing your art skills on your own, you just hate ai art right now because its not gonna be much profitable anymore youre still thinking about capitalism and how people become slave to money today
Even in some post scarcity world, where money is not an issue, I would not approve of someone taking my work, that I developed, and doing something I never permitted with it.

Again I think my views on AI are pretty clear. If you get permission sure, if you could actually built a "real" AI that could draw on their own, that would be fine too. At the moment, AI is just getting tons of info from the internet, and then without permission using that to "create your art". Until generative AI can "generate" without using the "data" of other artists, they need to pay royalties, or have permission. Otherwise it should be illegal.

the point of automation is also to make things so cheap to be even free and a transition from capitalism to socialism and communism will definitely require universal basic income
Yeah well we aren't getting so far in human development, that we need to actually worry about getting people to find a point, in their automative lives.
Artists should have thought about this before selling out and fully embracing digital art. I have no sympathy for people who mocked artists who clung to previous established practices and traditions.
This is the "first they came for..." poem but now you want people to care. ok? you reap what you sow.
Take the mocking phrase "old good new bad" people came up with to mock people who think old anime for example was better.
Guess what? You are now the "old" that you were so adamant was akshually inferior to the new.
You are the luddite caught between phases and are now shifting the goalposts to get bystanders to care about you.

Well AI will have to improve a lot before we can make good judgments on whether or not it will be good in media industries, especially in shows and movies. I for one don't care if someone who is bored messes around on the internet and wants to generate some AI images. It's not like they were going to pay some random artist $300 for a commission. Of course generating images from a website and using AI in shows and movies is a big difference, with massive differences in cost and quality.

Miyazaki does not care about AI being an insult to life itself. If he did he wouldn't have treated his son so horribly and have weird opinions on other shows and movie created from the soul.
Go read berserk it's the best thing ever

AI as a tool to help during the most tedious technical processes? I can discuss it.

AI as a tool for creation and generation of anime and media in general? Well, leave out the part about stealing concepts from other artists, the ecological footprint, the fact that corporations are trying too hard to sell the "trend" and don't care about minimal standards of quality, the annoying grifters trying to pass their prompts made of stolen arts as legitimate and thoughtful artistic creations, the precarization, the discussion about art as something that should at least have a degree of human expression and or supervision.

Yeah, leave all of that. Still, why? I don't crave for new content. I don't need artless slop to fill my low attention span when I have a watchlist of things in the thousands. I don't want to be subjected to whatever lifeless meme shit a machine can mass produce when there are many people with interesting and genuine ideas that I have not yet experienced. If AI generated "art" improves then good for it, there is still no reason to pick this when I have so much of that. I am not that desperate. And I honestly think this attempt to insert AI generation in entertainment and art reeks of desperation for fast content in the most content-filled era of all time, because I do not see any other legitimate reason why you'd push this.

Also, this Ghibli AI trend is abhorrent. The images do not look good at all, only a very poorly colored, surface level and flat imitation of the (in my opinion) great compositions of Miyazaki's works. Among all those other issues and perhaps the most frustrating, AI is also guilty for having messed up badly with the aesthetic standards of people and lowered them to the lowest I've ever seen. It's an uphill battle to be against AI for many reasons, but the one that makes me cringe the most is that people around me are praising the beauty of something that I -dare to say- almost objectively think is ugly as fuck. Damn, AI is so bad that it is making me an objectivist.

And finally, the argument about AI being the "logical" next step. That's the most perplexing to me. What is your point? Does it have value to you just because it's the next trend that is being forced to the industry and spoonfed to your tastes? Do you love technology for its applications and the impact in your life, or just because it is technology?

@Dienen I've seen this thing today about blaming digital artists for mocking traditional methods. It was a meme on Twitter, and the reason it was a meme is because nobody took that callout seriously and nobody genuinely thinks that this was an issue or something that actually happened.
