Morimi (Yoru wa Mijikashi Arukeyo Otome) published Penguin Highway on May 28, 2010 via Kadokawa Bunko. It has received the 31st Annual Japan SF Award on the same year. The novel centers around a fourth-grader, Aoyama-kun, investigating the mysterious reason behind the suddenly appearance of penguins in his village, which is somehow related to a power from a lady working at a dental clinic.

Yeah, that was awkward. The scene could work within the movie (presumably his crush on/infatuation with her plays an important role in the story), but a weird choice for a one minute trailer.
Studio Colorido typically make shorts so I'm really happy this is getting a film treatment. Hopefully it's a full-length feature film.
From what I can see, it's got an interesting premise and it being written by the author of TTG and UK does feel like it has something worthwhile to say. Definitely gonna be out to see this as soon as it's released. Seems like the type of thing I can really get behind.
