Square Enix has announced that one of its longer-running smartphone games, Dissidia Final Fantasy: Opera Omnia, is shutting down in February 2024 after six years of service.
“To our loyal players, it is with deep regret that we inform you that Dissidia Final Fantasy: Opera Omnia will end service on February 29, 2024,” read a statement from the developer, marking the end of another mobile game.
“We would like to thank you for your many years of support, and hope you can enjoy playing for a little while longer.”
Dissidia Final Fantasy: Opera Omnia launched as a smartphone game based on the Dissidia Final Fantasy games, first released in Japan on February 1, 2017, followed by a worldwide launch on January 30, 2018. The game has passed 10 million downloads as of June 2022 and boasts a total of 179 characters from across the Final Fantasy franchise.
Good riddance.
Wowwwww this is a huge shock 😫
I was a day 1 player and the community was so nice, it later got toxic because of power creep and know it alls would leave games if you didn’t have the meta setup for raids. Essentially the game killed itself. Basically every FF character ever was in that game…except for my personal choice of Lani from FF9. Oh well Brave Ex and Ever Crisis are all that’s left for FF gacha games. But a suggestion…if you don’t push it like NIKKE you won’t be getting those sales…ho sales that is 😏
this game had a long run i did play it for a little bit but it just wasnt for me
not to mention i kinda just fell out of ff games in general
Record Keepers was better. RIP that
